Why Us?
In recent years, the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) has encountered distinctive difficulties, such as destructive floods, devastating fires, and the global pandemic. Alongside these challenges, the community has observed a rise in homelessness, substance addiction, and mental health concerns. STHT's Support Services play a vital role in aiding the most vulnerable individuals in our community during these trying circumstances.
The Support Through Housing Team faces significant underfunding. Regrettably, we do not meet the criteria for major funding sources as we are not classified as a Housing First Program. Nevertheless, it is clear that our services are essential to the community. STHT offers a range of opportunities to support vulnerable individuals and families, enabling them to achieve success.
A Look at our Numbers
In 2023, we had
- 10 Successful Client Transitions into Independent Living
- STHT has subserved: 6 infants and 16 tender-age youth.
- 3043 points of contact
- 173 Verified Income Tax Returns (Jan - Jun 2023 as per CVITP)
- ending 2023 with 18 active intensive case management files
- 345 Volunteer hours donated to support STHT
